CERAMIC WIND BELL CHIME BY PAOLO SOLERI

$1,300.00

Arizona, 1960 - 1969
L 35” x W 9”

Indulge in the timeless allure of the Cosanti Ceramic Bell, a masterwork by the visionary Paolo Soleri. Crafted in the early stages of Soleri's illustrious career, this bell bears the unmistakable touch of its creator, marked with Soleri's signature "S" denoting his personal craftsmanship.

Measuring an impressive 35 inches in length when suspended, this bell is primed for display with its original chain intact. Hand-crafted with meticulous care by Soleri himself, the bell is fashioned from ceramic and adorned with intricate incised abstract geometric patterns, evoking mystical shapes reminiscent of extraterrestrial landscapes.

The clapper, crafted from ceramic, resonates harmoniously within the bell, while the fin, fashioned from copper, has developed a breathtaking patina, blending the original golden hues with mesmerizing green-blue tones.

Paolo Soleri (1919-2013), renowned as the founder of Cosanti and Arcosanti, left an indelible mark as an artist, architect, philosopher, and urban planner. Trained under the tutelage of Frank Lloyd Wright at Taliesin West in Arizona and Taliesin in Spring Green, Wisconsin, Soleri established his home and studio, Arcosanti (now known as simply Cosanti), in Arizona cementing his legacy as a pioneer of visionary design and thought.
