The Jakhoi is a traditional fishing tool in Assam, India, made from locally sourced bamboo strips, particularly Jati bamboo. It's designed as a wickerwork shovel used for catching small fish that hide within it when aquatic vegetation is disturbed. Fishermen either drag it along the waterbed or place it strategically to capture these fish.

This piece can be displayed by pinning to a wall by the tip of the bamboo handle. Features delicate twisted cane that joins the weaved wicker to the bamboo structure and handle.

Condition - wear consistent with age.
